Why should you vote for Estella Maldonado?

(1) Gold Line Train Station

(1) Gold Line Train Station

(1) Gold Line Train Station

The arrival of the Gold Line Train station is of concern to residents who worry about the unhoused who might arrive at the city. The solution includes running a well-lit, well-staffed station where local vendors will be set up around it. The residents' public safety concerns NEED to be addressed.

(2) Planning Housing

(1) Gold Line Train Station

(1) Gold Line Train Station

The city of La Verne will very soon undergo housing development as part of the rejuvenation of the Arrow Highway corridor due to the upcoming train station.  The city MUST consider options that beautify our community while ensuring the property value of our neighborhood is not compromised.

(3) Unhoused Transients

(1) Gold Line Train Station

(3) Unhoused Transients

The city of La Verne has embarked on a program to address the increase in the arrival of the unhoused.  But the result remains more unhoused arriving on our streets.  This program MUST be revisited and the city of La Verne NEEDS to tap into organizations like Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority for a more impactful solution.

(4) Community Services

... In collaboration with Citizens

(3) Unhoused Transients

The city of La Verne should reinstate all of the city-sponsored programs and services to the community as pre-COVID19 times.  The programs are slowly opening but going forward the city of La Verne needs to have a plan to minimize disruption due to the COVID19 endemic. (Endemic: in a population is when an infection is constantly maintained at a baseline level in a geographic area).

Meet Estella Maldonado

For me, family is everything!

I am a single mother to two young adult sons; one of them gave me the honor of being an Air Force Mom.  During their early years, getting them involved in City-sponsored sports became a family event as I volunteered as T-Ball and Basketball Coach.

My children built endless memories as they obtained an excellent education from schools like Oak Mesa, Ramona, and Bonita.  I volunteered as a member of the Bonita Boosters Board of Directors and Team Mom for the Boys’ Water Polo Team, Our life in La Verne has been profoundly satisfying!

My Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems degree has afforded me a successful 30-year career as a Technology Expert.  My specialty is in the recovery of network systems of corporate data centers, following a catastrophic outage. I depend on collaboration from 250+ technology experts, vendors, business leaders, and clients to deliver successfully and timely.

Why am I running for City Council?

La Verne is a beautiful city with a small-town charm.  Raising my children here was one of the best decisions of my life.  But our city is changing and rapidly growing and facing new challenges.  I believe that our City Council needs to evolve to best guide the development of our city to better meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.

  • I made up my mind to run for City Council because I want to bring effective strategies and seasoned expertise in managing large-scale, critical projects with full accountability.

Through my professional trajectory, I have become an efficient listener, an inquisitive advocate, and an informed leader.  I am effective because I know how to promote collaboration with others.
